Heather - Collie

Heather was my first dog as an adult. She was from Mel-Mar Collie Kennels in North Granby, Connecticut.
Heather loved to go for walks but when we turned back toward home, she would try to herd us back the other way by circling us and pretending to nip at our ankles.
She learned to be a good sailor but always preferred shore for certain things. She once had problems weathering a tropical storm at Block Island where we could not take her ashore to relieve herself and she refused to go on the boat. She did have the honor of using the private fiefdom of Gardiner's Island for the same purpose.

Heather was born September 26, 1965 and died November 4, 1978.
